Just Breath

Do you ever have a day when you feel like the world is falling down around you?  You know how a windshield will get hit with a rock and at fist there is just a chip.  As time goes on a crack will spread and then another until the entire windshield is shattered, but still intact.  However, you know if you hit one big bump it will fall to pieces.  This is how my life is feeling at the moment.  Really, it could be a lot worse, but I am having a hell of a time trying to make it work right now.  I even tried to smile and offer affirmations and couldn’t pick my mood up.  That is supposed to work!

So I started thinking… life doesn’t put road blocks up on positive streets so either I need to rethink my plans or accept the learning opportunities placed before me and tackle each new challenge.  When feeling this way is usually when I would say I deserve a big fat greasy cheeseburger, french fries and a shake.  Today I have decided I deserve to do something that will really make me feel better.  I am taking a healthy lunch from home and focusing on what will really make me feel better, attending to my health and true well being.  I am sure you have heard exercise releases endorphins that make you happy… bring on the freakin’ endorphins!  I have also heard that drinking water can help with stress and I am willing to give that a try.  In yoga they teach that the breath is healing.  Right now I am breathing deep and focusing on the beauty in the world around me.  Life is meant to work out… sometimes getting there is a challenge, but it will work out.

I haven’t done great with the 50/15 challenge this week, but I will get it done!  I am so excited to have so many awesome people taking that on.  It inspires me.

Today will be better than yesterday!

    Angie,
I am so glad you posted this today. It seems sometimes no matter how hard we try that life can just knock you down over and over. The key is to get up 1 more time than you get knocked down. Today we are 1 step ahead! We are going to succeed at this because we deserve to and because we are here for each other along with all of our fabulous new friends! Thank you so much for being inspiring to me and kicking me in the butt when neccesary 🙂
    Love Ya

I am also glad you posted this today. I am having some personal issues this week that are very stressful. However, like you said our lives are filled with challenges it will all work out one way or another we just have to work through them. It reminds me of that devil on our shoulder saying “you should go take a nap instead of exercising” or “eat that chocolate cake, it will be so good.” The next time he appears on my shoulder I’m going to kick him into next week while I’m getting my challenge miles in!

  4. Wonderful post. It is so hard to keep the faith on days like that but that is precisely what is necessary. Your post is both inspirational and thought provoking. Thanks!
